Maine High School Wrestling This years Junior Class has had a remarkable run since their freshman year, 2005. They include three wrestlers who have three state championships. Never before has there been more than one "Four Time Champion" crowned in any given year. Next year we could have three: Chris Smith - Deering * Jerod Rideout - Foxcroft * Jon Hussey - Marshwood This Junior Class has a chance to add several wrestlers to the "Three Time Champion" list. Juniors with two championships already are: Jimmy Spencer - Belfast - 1st - 1st - 2nd Jon Smith - Dirigo - 1st - 1st - 2nd Jacob Berry - Camden - 1st - 1st - Injured Carlin Dubay - Caribou - 1st - 1st - 4th Josh Eon - Massabesic - 1st - 1st - DNP Jake Longley - Noble - 1st - 1st - ? There are many more outstanding wrestlers in this junior class, here's a few: Sam Webber - Mt Blue - 1st - 2nd - 2nd Jon Pelletier - Bucksport - 2nd - 1st - 2nd Derek Daley - Dirigo - 3rd - 1st - 2nd (You can bet he won't be wrestling for the cycle next year) Logan Russell - Morse - 2nd - 3rd - 4th (You can bet he WILL be wrestling for the cycle next year) Kristi Pearce - Camden Hills - 2nd - 2nd - 3rd (Could have already been the first Female State Champion in the USA if not for Carlin Dubay) Ben Schutt - Morse - 4th - 1st Mike Rolerson - Belfast - 1st - 4th Josh Harvey - Dexter - 1st - 3rd - 3rd Derek Sicotte - Mtn Valley - 2nd - 2nd Murphy McGowan - Camden Hills - 2nd - 1st Ray Gauthier - York - 1st - 2nd Ryan Vartanian - Wells - 2nd - 3rd - 4th (Looking for same cycle as Logan Russell) Russell Gray - Sanford - 2nd - 2nd Matt Rix - Marshwood - 4th - 2nd - 4th Cody Loiselle - Marshwood - 2nd - 2nd Cinjin Goewey - MCI - 3rd - 4th - 2nd (Another looking for a Championship to complete the cycle) Raistlin Delisle - Kennebunk - 2nd - 2nd Kevin O'Leary - Dirigo - 1st Denton Weimer - Deering - 1st Ivan Bragg - Camden Hills - 1st I'm sure there's more.
