Some comments on the 2003 HS Tournament! Over all, this was probably the best State Championships in recent years. The wrestling was great. A lot of 2 seeds were in the finals. A lot of overtime matches. Quite a few upsets. The officiating, with the exception of a few isolated incidents, was the best I've seen in years. It was good to see more stallings called ... make them wrestle. Food. Kind of pricey but It's great that they included sandwiches on the menu. I cheered when a kid pulled out a thrilling victory and cried for the heartbreak of others. A great day. Full of emotion. Again, I'd like to see them pull back a curtain and make room for a ninth mat, and have three each for A, B, and C. GOOD LUCK to all who will represent us at the New Englands. |
